When it comes to security, WeConnect uses recognised industry standards to achieve the following objectives:

• Integrity of operating, process, and measurement data (use of signatures)
• Confidentiality of raw and user data (encryption and access protection)
• Availability of production and data (distributed system and protection from unwanted interaction)

The cryptographic measures are based on the well-known public key infrastructure (PKI) with X.509 certificates. WeConnect can therefore use certificates from any certification body used by the customer.
